NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies opened mixed with the broader market on Tuesday as crude prices rose but the financial sector got a boost as Goldman Sachs Group Inc. posted a better-than-expected second-quarter profit.
In sector news, Amphenol Corp. said President and Chief Operating Officer R. Adam Norwitt will become chief executive Jan. 1.
Here's how some shares of electrical equipment makers are performing:
Thomas & Betts Corp., up 35 cents to $39.10.
Avnet Inc., up 4 cents to $29.68.
Amphenol Corp., up 16 cents to $49.72.
Itron Inc., down 74 cents to $95.30.
