NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies closed higher on Thursday as the broader market rose following a downturn in crude oil prices.
Light, sweet crude for July delivery fell fell $4.06 to $132.62 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after China disclosed plans to raise fuel prices, which could lead to lowered demand.
How some shares of electrical equipment makers fared:
Graftech International, up 23 cents to $27.02.
Molex Inc., up 50 cents to $27.49.
Cooper Industries Ltd., down 13 cents to $42.52.
Baldor Electric Co., up $1.23, or 3.2 percent, to $39.52.
