US dollar mixed in Europe

LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Thursday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.5488, down from $1.5530 late Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_107.80 Japanese yen, down from 107.99
_1.0434 Swiss francs, up from 1.0365
_1.0182 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0183
The British pound was quoted at $1.9672, up from $1.9600.
Gold traded in London at $893.25 per troy ounce, up from $884.00 late Wednesday.
