NEW YORK - Online retailer Amazon.com Inc. said Wednesday that it purchased online fabric store Fabric.com.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Amazon said the deal will let Fabric.com increase its fabrics and accessories selection and allow Amazon to offer a larger selection of sewing and craft products to its customers.
Fabric.com will keep running in Marietta, Ga., as a stand-alone operation.
Shares of Amazon rose 48 cents to $80.12 in morning trading.
