NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies closed higher as the broader markets got a boost from the Federal Reserve's decision to leave its key federal funds rate unchanged.
The Fed's decision brings an end to a round of aggressive cuts earlier in the year.
How shares of some electrical equipment makers fared:
Regal Beloit Corp., up 48 cents to $45.78.
Cooper Industries Ltd., up 8 cents to $41.23.
Emerson Electric Co., up 11 cents to $51.08.
Wesco International Inc., up 24 cents to $42.48.
