NEW YORK - A group of funds controlled by financier Steven A. Cohen reported a 5.3 percent stake in video game maker Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Wednesday.

S.A.C. Capital Advisors LLC and its affiliates reported owning roughly 4.1 million shares of the New York-based company.
The shares were acquired for investment purposes and not with the purpose of influencing control of Take-Two, Cohen reported. However, the financier said he may discuss the company's business, strategy and future plans with Take-Two's leadership or other parties.
The funds reporting spending about $107.6 million of investment capital to buy the shares in open market purchases.
Take-Two shares fell 8 cents to $25.78 in after-hours trading, after gaining 7 cents to $25.86 during the regular session.
