NEW YORK - Shares of electronic parts manufacturer Jabil Circuit Inc. may trade actively on Wednesday, following a jump in fiscal third-quarter earnings.
The company said its sales rose 3 percent, while selling, general and administrative costs declined, as did research expenses.
Meanwhile, after Tuesday's closing bell, casual dining chain operator Darden Restaurants Inc. said it swung to a profit in its fiscal fourth quarter. Strong sales at the Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse helped results.
Elsewhere, 3Com Corp. said it posted a bigger fiscal fourth-quarter loss after the network equipment maker took a goodwill impairment charge.
However, revenue rose 3 percent and topped Wall Street expectations.
