Assured Guaranty Ltd. fell $1.65, or 7.7 percent, to $19.78
MGIC Investment Corp. declined $1.07, or 13 percent, to $7.18
American International Group declined $1.65, or 5.6 percent, to $28.09. Earlier in the session, shares of AIG hit an 11-year low.
XL Capital Ltd. fell 91 cents, or 3.6 percent, to $24.73
