Paychex sees 2-4 percent profit growth in 2009

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Paychex Inc., which provides payroll and human-resources services, said Thursday it expects net income to edge higher in fiscal 2009.

The Rochester, N.Y.-based company expects earnings to grow 2 percent to 4 percent, implying a profit of $587.7 million to $599.2 million.

The company expects revenue to grow 7 percent to 9 percent during the year ending May 31, 2009, implying revenue of $2.21 billion to $2.25 billion.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial, on average, predict profit of $611.9 million on revenue of $2.24 billion.
