FLIR Systems gets Colombian government contract

PORTLAND, Ore. - FLIR Systems Inc., which makes thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems, said late Thursday it received a $6.7 million order from Colombia's government.

The nation's Ministry of Defense is buying multisensor surveillance systems for use on airplanes engaged in counter-narcotic and counterterrorism missions within the South American country.

Work will be performed in Portland, Ore., and be complete within 12 months.

FLIR, which recently expanded its Bogota, Colombia, service center, has delivered more than 70 airborne sensor systems to the Colombian Ministry of Defense since 2001.
