DANVILLE, Va. - Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plans to invest $200 million at its tire plant to improve technology and boost production.

The Danville plant is thought to be the world's largest maker of aircraft tires and radial truck tires and employs more than 2,200 workers.
Governor Timothy Kaine's office says the project will be supported by $3 million in performance-based incentive grants. An additional $1.1 million will come from funds that help promote economic growth in tobacco-dependent communities.
