OMAHA, Neb. - It will cost at least $300,100 to have lunch with investor Warren Buffett this year.
That's less than half of the $650,100 two investors paid last year to have lunch with Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s chairman and chief executive. But several hours remain before the eBay auction closes Friday evening at 7 PDT.
All but six of the 51 bids in the weeklong auction have been made since midday Thursday. The leading bid Friday morning was $300,100.
The auction benefits the Glide Foundation, which provides social services to the poor and homeless in San Francisco. This is the sixth year Buffett has auctioned a lunch online.
The winning bidder and up to seven friends will dine with Buffett at the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in New York City.
