Opening Glance: Aerospace shares mostly rise

NEW YORK - Shares of aerospace and defense companies mostly edged higher Friday morning, following two straight losing sessions.

Many stocks in the sector hit longtime lows over the last two days, after a Goldman Sachs analyst downgraded the sector Wednesday and record oil prices weighed on the market Thursday.

Early results in the sector included:

Raytheon Co. added 74 cents to $56.80.

Northrop Grumman Corp. rose 66 cents to $67.19, after hitting an 18-month low of $66.43 shortly after the opening bell.

Lockheed Martin Corp. gained 76 cents to $100.28.

On the down side, shares of Boeing Co. dipped $1.16, to $67.05, their lowest point since August 2005.
