LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mixed against other currencies in European trading Monday. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.5734, down from $1.5775 late Friday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.5736.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Friday, included 106.19 Japanese yen, down from 106.26; 1.0209 Swiss francs, up from 1.0194; and 1.0180 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0108.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9907, down from $1.9930.
In midday New York trading, the dollar bought 106.19 yen and 1.0202 Swiss francs, while the pound was worth $1.9912.
Gold traded in London at $932.75 per troy ounce, up from $923.00 late Friday.
