DENVER - Forest Oil Corp. said Monday it has increased its holdings in East Texas and North Louisiana as it seeks to exploit energy reserves in the region's Haynesville/Bossier Shale and nearby areas.

The company now has 113,000 net acres in the entire region, including 90,000 net acres of what it believes includes the Haynesville/Bossier Shale.
Forest currently produces the equivalent of 75 million to 80 million cubic feet of gas in the two-state region. Production is expected to rise to 85 million to 90 million cubic feet by the end of the year.
