WASHINGTON - Engineering and construction contractor Shaw Group Inc. spent $220,000 lobbying the federal government in the first quarter, according to a government disclosure.

The Baton Rouge, La.-based company lobbied on nuclear energy, military housing, logistics contracting and Hurricane Katrina reconstruction efforts, among other issues.

Besides Congress, Shaw lobbied the Energy Department and the Air Force in the first three months of the year, according to the form filed April 18 with the House clerk's office.
