Flir Systems gets $49.8M Navy contract

WASHINGTON - A division of Flir Systems Inc., which makes thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems, received a $49.8 million contract from the Navy for a short-range surveillance system that will be installed on military ground vehicles, the Pentagon said late Monday.

Shares of Wilsonville, Ore.-based Flir added $2.43, or 6 percent, to $43 in midday trading Tuesday after earlier hitting a 52-week high of $44.46. The company's stock had traded between $20.61 and $42 in the past year.
