NEW YORK - Household-durables stocks dropped Tuesday morning as investors entered the third quarter plagued by record-high crude-oil prices above $142 a barrel.

Black & Decker Corp., down $1.02 to $56.49.
Whirlpool Corp., down 32 cents to $61.41.
Snap-on Inc., down 76 cents to $51.25.
Stanley Works, down 85 cents to $43.98.
