NEW YORK - Ketchup and salad dressing maker H.J. Heinz Co. said Wednesday it plans to buy Paris-based sauce maker Benedicta to grow its sauce business in France.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Heinz said the acquisition will "contribute to our strategy to grow our sauces business in France."
Benedicta makes table-top sauces, mayonnaises and salad dressings. Heinz said Benedicta has about $90 million in sales.
Heinz shares rose 1 cent to $47.40 in afternoon trading.
