Trans-Pacific surcharges from the U.S. to Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, will increase to 55 cents per kilogram from 50 cents.
Surcharges on Northwest Cargo's longest routes, including all other shipments between the U.S. and Asia, will increase to $1.35 per kilogram from $1.30.
The fuel surcharges are subject to government approvals in certain regions.
Domestic U.S. fuel surcharges will remain unchanged.
Shares of Northwest fell 69 cents, or 10.6 percent, to $5.83 in afternoon trading.
