Seattle-based Providence does not plan to change the hospital's services or staff, said spokeswoman Patricia Aidem.
"Providence Health & Services has just guaranteed the future of this hospital, and health care services in our community will be secure," said Lee Alpert, chair of the medical center's board of directors.
Providence also promised to upgrade the campus with new medical equipment and a seismic retrofit.
Providence already operates Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank and Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.
The Tarzana facility was part of a combined campus known as Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center. Last month, Prime Healthcare Services, Inc., bought the 151-bed Encino campus from Tenet.
Tenet once had 41 hospitals in California; it will have 12 facilities statewide once a handful of current sales close.
