GLG Partners hires former Goldman Sachs partner

NEW YORK - Asset manager GLG Partners Inc. said Monday it named Driss Ben-Brahim to develop a platform for its emerging markets special situations business.

Ben-Brahim will develop a platform for the $1.2 billion business as well as create a platform and series of funds tailored for the needs of sovereign wealth funds.

Before joining GLG Partners, Ben-Brahim served as a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he most recently ran the bank's emerging markets trading business.
