NEW YORK - Shares of aerospace and defense companies rose Monday morning, as lower oil prices and strength in the dollar gave stocks a lift.
Oil prices fell as much as $5 per barrel, and the dollar mostly gained strength against other currencies.
Early results in the aerospace and defense sector included the following:
Precision Castparts Corp., up $3.15, or 3.3 percent, to $97.45.
Goodrich Corp., up 81 cents to $47.07.
Boeing Co., up 77 cents to $65.24.
United Technologies Corp., up 68 cents to $61.73.
