NEW YORK - Internet software and services stocks mostly rose Monday morning, with Yahoo Inc.'s shares jumping after Microsoft Corp. and billionaire Carl Icahn said Microsoft is willing to talk about a deal with Yahoo if a new board is elected.

Yahoo Inc. rose $2.31, or 10.8 percent, to $23.66.
Google Inc. rose $7.57 to $544.57.
EBay Inc. rose 8 cents to $26.88.
Akamai Technologies Inc. slipped 45 cents to $32.52.
VeriSign Inc. fell $1.70, or 4.6 percent, to $35.04.
