Same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, is a key measure of retailer performance, because it measures growth at existing stores rather than from newly opened ones.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial, on average, predicted same-store sales would rise 2.2 percent.
For the five-week period ended June 28, total sales grew 6 percent to $23.3 million.
For the 13-week period ended June 28, same-store sales rose 3 percent while total sales rose 4 percent to $74.1 million.
The company raised second-quarter profit guidance on the results.
