NEW YORK - Health care equipment and supply stocks closed mostly higher Tuesday, as the broader market rebounded on falling oil prices.
Investors were also relieved to hear that the Federal Reserve might extend its lending efforts to investment banks.
How shares of some major health care equipment and supply companies fared:
Covidien Ltd. added 48 cents to close at $48.
Stryker Corp. rose $1.26 to $63.34.
Baxter International Inc. jumped $1.58 to $65.46.
Bucking the trend, Varian Medical Systems Inc. lost 60 cents to $50.24.
