NEW YORK - Shares of investment banks rose Tuesday along with the broader market as Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke said the central bank might extend its lending efforts to investment banks to help improve liquidity in the credit markets.
Here's a look at how investment banks fared Tuesday:
Merrill Lynch rose $2.41, or 7.9 percent, to $32.77.
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. rose $5.08, or 3 percent, to $174.90.
Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. rose $1.43, or 6.9 percent, to $22.27.
Morgan Stanley rose $1.42, or 4.1 percent, to $36.49.
