KEARNEY, Neb. - Clothing retailer Buckle, Inc. said Wednesday its same-store sales jumped 28.9 percent in June.

Same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, is a key indicator of retailer performance since it measures growth at existing stores rather than newly opened ones.
For the five-week period ended July 5, total sales rose 39 percent to $61.9 million from $44.7 million in the prior year period.
Year-to-date, The Buckle said same-store sales climbed 28 percent while total sales jumped 36 percent.
