FXstrreet.com (Barcelona) - Shop prices have accelerated in June, fuelled specially by food products, while the non food products posted a slight yearly increase, according to data released by the British Retail Consortium.

Shop prices have posted a 2.5% increase in June from the same month last year, up from the 0.8% yearly rise recorded in May. Food products have been, by far the largest contributor to inflation, posting a 7.0% jump on the year. Non food products edged up 0.2%.

Month on month, prices have increased 0.9% in the UK in June, with food prices posting a 1.0% rise, and non food prices 0.8% higher than in May.
