Same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, is a key measure of retailer performance, because it measures growth at existing stores rather than from newly opened ones.

In a recorded monthly sales call, the company said same-store sales of men's clothing increased slightly, while same-store sales of women's clothing fell in the mid-teens percentage range.
Total sales for the five weeks ended July 5 fell 5 percent to $255.9 million from $270.2 million last year.
Year-to-date, same-store sales fell 8 percent and total sales rose 1 percent to $1.1 billion.
The company reaffirmed second-quarter profit guidance of 28 cents to 30 cents per share, while analysts expect a profit of 29 cents per share.
