Amkor Technology lowers 2Q revenue guidance

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Microchip assembly and test company Amkor Technology Inc. on Thursday lowered its second-quarter revenue guidance, citing disruptions in production from the implementation of an enterprise resource planning system at its Philippines facilities.

The company now expects sales to decline 1 percent to 2 percent from the first quarter of 2008, implying revenue between $692.5 million and $685.5 million. Previously, the company expected sales to rise between 1 percent and 3 percent, to a range of $706.5 million to $720.5 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial anticipate revenue of $710.8 million, on average.

Amkor shares fell 96 cents, or 10.1 percent, to $8.56 in electronic after-hours trading. During regular trading, shares rose 56 cents, or 6.3 percent, to close at $9.52.
