NEW YORK - Shares of construction and engineering companies traded higher on Thursday, helped by better-than-expected quarterly earnings from Shaw Group Inc.
The Baton Rouge, La., company said its fiscal third-quarter earnings came in at an adjusted 70 cents per share, beating Wall Street estimates by 8 cents per share.
Here's how some shares of construction and engineering companies fared:
Shaw jumped $5.49, or 9.9 percent, to $60.80.
Quanta Services Inc. gained $1.26, or 4.3 percent, to $30.66.
Foster Wheeler Ltd. rose $3.35, or 5.5 percent, to $64.58.
McDermott International Inc. added $2.44, or 4.4 percent, to $58.43.
