NEW YORK - Shares of electrical equipment companies opened mixed on Thursday as the broader market wobbled following better than-expected June retail sales and an uptick in oil prices.
In sector news, Cooper Industries Ltd. lifted its second-quarter outlook on stronger overseas demand.

Cooper Industries, up $1.21, or 3.2 percent, to $38.90.
Itron Inc., ahead 54 cents to $93.
Graftech International Ltd., down 24 cents to $22.04.
Avnet Inc., off 44 cents to $25.41.
