NEW YORK - Shares of paper and packing companies were mixed Thursday morning following better-than-expected June retail sales reports, and Dow Chemical Co.'s offer to acquire rival Rohm and Haas Co. in a deal worth more than $15 billion.
Here's how some paper and packaging stocks are trading:
Weyerhaeuser Co., up 32 cents to $49.04.
AbitibiBowater Inc., down 18 cents, or 2 percent, to $8.92.
International Paper Co., down 45 cents, or 2 percent, to $22.32.
Temple-Inland, down 11 cents to $11.59.
