NEW YORK - Shares of construction and engineering companies traded mostly lower on Friday as the broader market trimmed heavy intraday losses after the Federal Reserve said it may allow Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to borrow money from the central bank if necessary.
Here's how some construction and engineering companies fared:
Fluor Corp., down 58 cents to $174.74
Foster Wheeler Ltd., down $1.12 to $63.46
Quanta Services Inc., down 77 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $29.89
Shaw Group Inc., down 68 cents to $60.12
