NEW YORK - Shares of construction and engineering companies opened lower on Friday as the broader market tumbled on worries over mortgage companies Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and sharply higher oil prices.
Meanwhile, a Friedman, Billings, Ramsey analyst upgraded shares of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to "Outperform" from "Market Perform," saying shares are cheap.
Here's how some shares of construction and engineering companies are performing:
Jacobs, up $3.15, or 4.2 percent, to $77.94.
Granite Construction Inc., down 5 cents to $32.70.
Quanta Services Inc., down 90 cents to $29.76.
Perini Corp., off 80 cents to $24.63.
