Zions Bancorp added 12 cents to $19.85, after hitting a new low of $17.53 in early trading.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. gained 21 cents to $32.
National City Corp. and Bank of America Corp. were among the decliners. National City lost 37 cents, or 9.8 percent, to $3.40, while Bank of America fell 65 cents, or 3.2 percent, to $19.50.
