LOS ANGELES - The president of Newsweek Inc., Greg Osberg, will leave the magazine in the fall to pursue other opportunities, the magazine said Wednesday.
Osberg "oversaw the tremendous growth of Newsweek.com and took a liking to the digital sector," Newsweek said in a statement. "He has been a leader expanding the site's reach and visibility and we will miss him."
The magazine, owned by the Washington Post Co., said it has no plans to replace Osberg as president.
Although Osberg told staff he was leaving several months ago, his departure was first reported in the magazine trade publication Folio on Wednesday.
He was formerly the president of sales and marketing at Web site operator CNet Networks Inc., which was acquired in June by CBS Corp. for $1.8 billion.
