LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mixed against most other major currencies in European trading Thursday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.5868, up from $1.5810 late Wednesday in New York. Later Wednesday, in New York midday trading, the euro fetched $1.5874.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Wednesday, included 105.76 Japanese yen, up from 104.93; 1.0185 Swiss francs, up from 1.0179; and 1.0015 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0019.
The British pound was quoted at $2.0024, up from $1.9992.
Later, in midday trading in New York, the dollar bought 105.74 yen and 1.0176 francs, while the pound was worth $2.0036.
Gold traded in London at $965.50per troy ounce, down from $977.50 late Wednesday.
