Citi names former IBM executive to board

NEW YORK - Citigroup Inc. said Monday that former International Business Machines Corp. executive Lawrence Ricciardi has been elected to its board of directors.

Ricciardi, 67, previously served as senior vice president, general counsel and adviser to the chairman of IBM. His election to the board brings the total number of directors to 15.

Prior to IBM, Ricciardi served in senior roles at RJR Nabisco Inc., including president, co-chairman and co-chief executive.

Citi shares jumped 77 cents, or 4 percent, to $20.12 in morning trading. Shares have traded between $14.01 and $52.18 in the past 12 months.
