WASHINGTON - Orbital Sciences Corp. received a $15 million contract Monday from the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency to build a medium-range target missile for Japan.

Work on the contract, which is expected to be completed by January 2010 and includes an option for a second missile, will be done in Chandler, Ariz.
Shares of Dulles, Va.-based Orbital Sciences rose 39 cents to $25.08 Monday.
