"The Dark Knight" star Christian Bale denied allegations of assault made by his mother and sister of assault.

The actor was arrested and then released after four hours by police on Tuesday morning in London after his mother and sister filed a complaint over an alleged incident which took place at the Dorchester Hotel on Sunday night.
"Christian Bale attended a London police station today on a voluntary basis," the actor's London-based law firm said in a statement. "Bale, who denies the allegation, cooperated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police."
"There was an incident but the police are dealing with it," his sister, Sharon Bale, 40, told the Daily Telegraph today. "It is an extremely sensitive situation. There is nothing more I can say."
His mother, Jenny, 61, also affirmed that "family situation" existed.
"Yes, I was there and yes, there was a family situation but the police are handling it and I cannot say anymore at the moment," she said.
"We didn't call the police to the scene. I can't say anymore but we didn't call the police."
