BELLEVUE, Wash. - Commercial truck maker Paccar Inc. said Wednesday that its board elected Tom Plimpton as vice chairman effective Sept. 1.

Plimpton has been with Paccar for 31 years and served as its president since 2003.
In addition, Paccar said Mike Tembreull will retire as vice chairman and a director in January.
The company's board also elected Jim Cardillo, who joined the company in 1990, as its president, also effective Sept. 1.
Paccar shares fell $1.15, or 2.6 percent, to $43.45 in afternoon trading.
