NEW YORK - Shoe maker Steven Madden Ltd. on Tuesday said it signed a license agreement with Kimora Lee Simmons' KLSI and Phat Fashions to design, manufacture, market and distribute shoes and accessories for the Fabulosity brand.
The collection will consist of women's shoes and handbags, among other accessories, and be distributed exclusively to J.C. Penney Co.'s retail stores early in 2009.
Steve Madden's interim chief executive, Edward Rosenfeld, said the line expands its shoes and accessory offerings.
Simmons is president of Baby Phat and creative director of Phat Fashions' Baby Phat, Phat Farm, and KLS Collection brands. Phat Fashions is a unit of Kellwood Co.
Shares of Steven Madden rose $1.26, or 5.6 percent, to $23.74 in afternoon trading.
