PORTLAND, Ore. - Another university has challenged the Recording Industry Association of America over snooping on music downloads.
Central Michigan University has asked Michigan regulators to order a contractor for the RIAA to "cease and desist all investigation activities concerning Michigan individuals."
The University of Oregon has gone to court in a similar case.
The RIAA and contractor MediaSentry are also being sued by an Oregon woman who says the recording industry is threatening and intimidating innocent people.
The Central Michigan complaint filed with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth says MediaSentry has been challenged in federal court in at least eight states, including Oregon and Michigan.
