Anna Faris, which stars in the comedy "The House Bunny" being released this week, said she had an "awful" time getting into shape to play a character that could conceivably appear in the pages of Playboy.
"It was awful; I had to work out a lot and could only eat certain things. It was the regime of it all that I didn't enjoy," Faris told Pop Tarts, according to Fox News on Wednesday. "But I've gained all the weight back now."
The actress, 31, who is best known for her work in the "Scary Movie" series of films, plays Shelley Darlington, an orphaned young woman who is chosen to live at the Playboy Mansion, but whose stay there does not last long there after she is thrown out by a jealous rival. She eventually becomes a house mother for a sorority, teaching the pledges how to flirt and make themselves up into a more glamorous version of themselves.
Faris said she was self-conscious about showing off her body even when she was in shape for the film.
"For the first two weeks of shooting, I wore my robe and wouldn't take it off until we filmed," she said. "But then I realized nobody cared; the cast and crew really didn't care."
