Critics are excited about Anna Faris' performance in the new comedy 'The House Bunny,' which sees the 31-year old actress playing a ditzy blonde who is too old for the Playboy Mansion.

The phrases being used to describe her performance include "really clicks," is "hilarious," and "winning."

Faris, who is best known for her work in the "Scary Movie" series of films, plays Shelley Darlington, an orphaned young woman owho is chosen to live at the Playboy Mansion, but whose stay there does not last long there after she is thrown out by a jealous rival.

She eventually becomes a house mother for a sorority, teaching the pledges how to flirt and make themselves up into a more glamorous version of themselves.

" 'The House Bunny' is not a good comedy. But there's no airbrushing out the funny surrounding its star," says Joe Neumaier of the New York Daily News.

Critic Carrie Rickey, of the Philadelphia Inquirer also like the performance, not withstanding the film's shortcomings.

"Despite a winning performance by Anna Faris, the cutest thing in platform shoes since Goldie Hawn, the film falls on its keister so many times that before long the perky pinkness turns bruising black-and-blue," she writes.

Michael Ordonya, writing for the Los Angeles times like the actresses "glazed-eyed charm" in an "especially ditzy" and "flat-out hilarious" performance.

The film is "also among the sunnier, funnier films of the year, thanks largely to the zest with which Faris embodies a mental vacuum," he adds.
