Lifepoint Hospitals COO to retire next April

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Lifepoint Hospitals Inc. said Thursday William M. Gracey, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will retire April 30, 2009.

David M. Dill, chief financial officer and executive vice president, will become operating chief after a replacement for him has been found. A search process for a new finance chief has begun.

Gracey will remain executive vice president until his departure.

Shares of Lifepoint rose 29 cents to close at $35.05.
