NEW YORK - Shares of some top silver companies are up at noon:

PAAS	12.1	2.8
SSRI	8.25	1.59
SLW	2.81	0.24

Hecla Mining rose $.38 or 5.5 percent, to $7.25.

Pan American Silver rose $1.72 or 6.8 percent, to $26.97.

Silver Standard rose $1.63 or 6.7 percent, to $26.05.

Silver Wheaton rose $.41 or 3.6 percent, to $11.80.
