Sprinter Usain Bolt won his third gold medal and on Friday, as he helped the Jamaican team win the men's 4x100 meters in a new world record time of 37.10.

The result for the relay team (Bolt, Asafa Powell, Nesta carter, Michael Frater) at the Beijing Olympics also gave Bolt his third world record in three events. It also broke the previous record in the event set by the United States 15 years earlier.

The race went smoothly without major difficulties. Usain took the baton from Frater, gained ground and gave it to Powell who finished the race and ran in for victory, reducing some of the disappointment from his fifth place finish in the 100m individual race.

Trinidad placed second at 38.06 while Japan, at 38.15, surprisingly took the bronze.
